Puppy Chewing

Have you ever come home to find your puppy chewing? Trust me, you’re not alone. In fact, all puppies chew at some point; it’s part of nature. But eventually, your puppy will grow up into a dog, and if he is still chewing then, then you have some problems. Don’t worry though, because your puppies chewing problems can be stopped, and I will do my best to help you.

Below I have organized a few tips that will hopefully help you, and your pet.

Never support bad chewing – Although everything your puppy does may be cute, if you support his chewing, he will think you are in favor of it, and continue to do it. Do not laugh or pet your dog during, or directly after he has chewed on something of yours.
If your puppy chewing problems get really bad, you may want to look into getting outside help. By outside help, I don’t mean to go hire a $ 45/hr personal trainer, because I’ve tried that, and it doesn’t work. With so many resources on the internet, you can take the route I took, and learn online how to train your puppy to stop chewing.
Also make sure that your dog has his own toys to chew on. There should be a wide variety of toys for him to chew whenever he wants. he should have big toys, small toys, fat toys, hard toys, soft toys, and anywhere in between. If he doesn’t have his own, then you can expect him to chew yours.

Hopefully these tips will get you started to stop puppy chewing, but in some cases, you may need a little more help. Above I mentioned that I learned how to train my puppy by taking an internet course. Since that worked so well for me, I feel that it is worth mentioning to you. The course that I used is called “Kingdom of Pets”, and it is an inexpensive training course for pretty much any problem your dog may have, not just chewing. If you’d like to learn more about it, and my story with it, then check out the link below:
