I am a circuit board design engineer. When my RF-1010 failed for no apparent reason, I took off the cover and looked at the circuit board. All of the protection circuits had been removed by the manufacturer. The fuse was replaced by a wire. The two TVS devices were not installed. These are Transient Voltage Surpressors. They are in place to prevent spikes in voltage from damaging the circuits. When you have a big wire encircling your backyard, you WILL get spikes.
It’s just a shame that they made their product a pce of crap for what? To save a couple pennies in components, or to make money from the repair service.

We received a PETBABY stubborn dog system and not a PETSAFE transmitter. It doesn’t work…I HATE it when a company does that. If I wanted a knock off brand I would have looked for one.

Lightning fried our old transmitter; so, we were glad to be able to order just this item instead of the whole set. Keeps our dog in the yard.
