My dog runs after the frisbee looks at it and runs off..
The Girl is Really cute
I have a
(Pug/share pei) mix
Supposedly called “ori pei”
I googled it
But he’s crazy like yea he’s a perfect dog he’s cute he’s nice he sits when
I ask him too he always comes inside when I tell him to but I have 2
problems he ALWAYS barks if my neighbors are outside “they’re usually not
cuz they’re old”
But still and when I take him for walks he’ll run away without looking back
one time I accidentally opened my front door and my second glass door for
too long and he ran
I chased him but thay only made him run more!
Like he stayed with me but he thinks it’s a game, luckily I trapped him in
someone’s driveway
Hey Zak. I’ve left a suggestion before, but it was never answered, so I’m
going to suggest it again because I’d really be interested if you’d help
us. 🙂
We have three dogs, one is a Labrador Retriever, one is a Mountain Feist,
and the other is a mutt(we don’t know what she is).
Our mutt is about 4 to 5 years old now. Recently found out that she had
fairly large bladder stones that were causing her pain, making her inactive
and grumpy. After her surgery, she has improved quite a bit and is now a
playful and loving dog. One thing that hasn’t changed however, is the fact
that she still attacks other dogs, including ours. She has lashed out
multiple times at children as well as strangers. We are having an awful
time with her. I’d love to know if you could help us teach her to not
attack other dogs or people. It would be greatly appreciated.
Also, would love to say that I am a huge fan of your videos. They are
definitely very helpful!
What about teaching your dog the way home
this is a GREAT video – and conditioning your dog via the leash to control
them until they are trained to stay with you off-leash is a very good
technique, especially in a busy, noisy, high population environment like in
this video. Zak positively reinforces his commands and I don’t see anything
harsh about this training. I believe in leash training … and crate
training too. I love my dogs and they are part of my family and live in my
home, but remember that you are the alpha and have to set the rules ….and
this is the way to do it. Once you train your dog to mind you and have
manners, they will not have behavior problems. You know, just like with
children. If you let them be brats they are going to be brats. You can’t
let your children or dogs run over you.
Zak, love your videos, new puppy will be ready on October 3. I would like
to see the puppy training vidieos labeled in order of importance at least
the first few. Lots of good advice, I am studying all of them even tho my
puppy will be a tiny one. Is there anything different that I need to know
to train a tiny dog?
I think I see him at Animal Planet…..
thank you for the tips on training our dog. Coops now sits and will work on
training him to not pull on the lead and come to us on command.
these are great videos for dogs that don’t weigh anything, but my dogs
weigh over 150lbs. What then? They can rip the leash out of my hand.d
you should do a video on what to do if you find a stray dog
these videos are sooo sooo good.
my dog bites when im running not sure why
Let me tell you about Dixie. She is a Staffy/lab who I am fostering. I have
been fosting for about 4 months now and I only have one month until I start
working ful time and I can’t keep her. I would love her to find a stable
home and really don’t want to go back to kennels. I think the only reason
she has not been homed already is that she is strong on the lead. She is so
well, behaved in the house and is good with people and dogs(except some
large varietiies) I live in the UK and a Labrodor is the most popular dog
and Staffordshire bull terriers are the 5th. Through the charity I foster
her 2 staffyxLabs have come and been homed. So I find it hard to understand
why no-one wants her. Most dogs in my area are off-lead and people I have
talked to mostly have had their dogs off-lead from puppies. So if Dixie
could be good off-lead it might be good for homing prospects. Dixie is 4/5
and was found stay so could have run away. I have been using a 10m training
lead to work on her recall but on walks she can be brilliant but doesn’t
always listen. Last week I had her on the training lead in a relatively
quiet field. I didn’t see any dogs until a small terrier(archie) came to
play with her, with her owner out of view. Dixie was delighted when Archie
rolled on his back and she started playing a little rough with it with her
paws. Then the terrier gave a yelp but was clearly enjoying itself and
Dixie stood back and looked like she was going to run and get it to chase.
As the terrier stood up I saw it was a bit tangled in the slack lead with
some around its neck. I told Dixie to wait and she listened as I removed
it. Then the owner appeared and put his dog on a lead. While nothing
actually happend this has put me off using the training lead with so many
off-lead dogs around. Today I decided to let her off-lead on an enclosed
area and she loved it. She had so much energy. Now I have found that area I
will use it again. I might see if I can get her to play with toys or take
treats but to be honest she just loves bounding through long grass. I like
your videos by the way. My heart did sink a bit when you said 12 months
before going off lead. I though my 4 months would be OK. I’m sure it
depends a bit on where you live. As I said most dogs are off lead hear and
there are no dog parks. She is a very loyal dog. It will be so hard to
give her up. She doesn’t know I don’t own her.
I see you use a lot of border collie/aussie shepherd type dogs in your
videos. Do you have any of other breed dogs that DON’T like frisbee?
Great video. Nice to see the details of how you work with the dog on the
long leash in a distracting environment. Thanks!
my puppy has been learning all of these trick. their awesome!!!
Ok, I clicked “thumbs up”, now give me my treat ! Woof !
