German Shepherd puppy obedience training – 4.5 months old

Jamaica is a 4.5 months old German Shepherd female puppy from Germany. She was trained in off-leash obedience, which was a joy, as she is very focused and eager to please. I only used motivational methods when training this German Shepherd puppy. Take a look at the result!

www.sitmeanssit.com This dog training video shows how to practice some random ‘sit’ commands in a dog park, and also integrating it in with releasing your dog to be free as well. Having the ability to stop your dog instantly in non-patterned situations like a dog park, can carry over to safety and good obedience and behavior in your dog anywhere. You will also see how having the ability to stop your dog can neutralize possible potential aggression situations. http To become a franchise see: www.franchise.sitmeanssit.com

  7. zoerocks59 says:

what did you do or use to train him?

  8. sumskater999 says:

I know it’s 6 months later, but if your dog is biting you can firmly say NO, give chew toys, or ask him to perform a command and reward him when he does it.

  9. ScoopzyDaizy says:

Oh, then it’s completely justified. I love your video with Jana, what a beautiful puppy she was…You don’t happen to have videos of here grown up? I’d love to see her!

  10. Yuliya291077 says:

Of course! Even in adult dog can be trained.

  11. Yuliya291077 says:

You must have your dog in a crate when you fly with them. So it’s best to start teaching them early on, and in a very positive way. It’s also much safer to have your dog in a crate when you drive.

  12. Yuliya291077 says:

You can start training simple things at 9 weeks. If you are consistent, persistent, and fair, he will learn right away.

  13. Yuliya291077 says:

I don’t know why other people do this, but I often will send my dogs to Germany to finish their training, which was the case with Jana when she got older. So it’s better for the dog not to have to “learn a new language” when she is in Germany.

  14. ScoopzyDaizy says:

It’s desireable for your pup to bite a lot. It makes it that much easier to train puppies who are full of energy and eager to bite and nip. Your pup will calm down, mine is 4 months old and he hardly ever bites. It only happens when he’s thirsty or hungry. Just give your pup a lot of love and play with it constantly. Throw the ball and run around and it will tire. This should stop biting. Also keep in mind that my dog stopped biting when I he started to spend more time outside of the house.

  15. ScoopzyDaizy says:

I’ll never understand why people use German words to train German shepherds…that is so stupid, pointless and ridiculous. I’d like to see Americans train Akita in their “native language”. Good job on the training though. My puppy is 4 months and a week old. His name is Ringo and he’s a little machine 🙂

  20. TheCrysis21 says:

At what age will my pup really develop understanding for training and listening?hes only 9 weeks right now and going throught the biting phase?

  21. MrOlsen93 says:

german shepherd, most beautiful dog and it’s a really easy dog to train, and they are really into cuddling 😛

  22. MrOlsen93 says:

i am from jamaica and i moved to america and i am thinking about getting a golden retriever or german shepherd. Which one should i get

  24. europe0wnz says:

i started training my german shepherd at 8 weeks (putting the leash on her, telling her to sit next to me, or lay down) and as she got older, i started to make it harder and harder. now she’s 10 months old, and every 1 wants her, cause of how she acts. next is bite work.

  25. hopi6352 says:

i have a 5.3 month old puppy can i still train him????????

  26. Jennifer Griffith says:

Hey! Thanks for this helpful video. By the way, I hear a lot of people keep on talking about Xobodog Training (just google it), but I’m not sure if it is really good. Have you tried this dog training program known as Xobodog Training? I’ve heard many great things about it.

  27. TheRealAlas says:

Can you recommend some book/video/material on how to properly train sit command? Thanks.
