i have a puppy (german shepherd) the problem is he dont like 2 go walking outside , well just for doing poop this stuff then he run back 2 the house , he like the house more than outside , and if i make him 2 go outside he sit without any move and he try 2 tell me i wanna back …. what i can do fooor him ?
I’ve chatted on a bit now, but my main point is that dogs NEED to be taught as soon as u can, regardless of whether they respond to how u ideally u want or not. Killa is a staffy/boxer – known for aggression, excitement and over-activeness, yet with training and persistance he has developed as a very respectful dog (by our human standards). It’s all about how u interact with ur dog-give him everything he needs ie. mental/physical stimulation (games etc/walking)
The key is persistance – if u constantly use the same commands, the same tone (remember dogs dont hear the word, they hear the sound/noise) as well as, more importantly – hand signals (killa responds more instantly to hand gestures and each verbal command has it’s own physical command to match).
need to go (which is a toilet command) and ‘go on’ – which is any way i point and click my fingers means go that way until i say wait. He also knows if i say ‘oi’ or ‘no’ that i dont like what he’s doing and to stop.
second week (through bits of training a few times every day) he could, sit, come here, wait (as in stay, but i feel more comfortable with words i use), down, bed, look (which is my fave cuz he looks me in the eye until i say), and bang (saying ‘bang’ with fingers pointing at him like a gun – making him roll on his back),
