I know this is “how to train a puppy”, but my puppy is 10 months old. I got the book and am applying the leash training, sit and lay to my dog. I wasn’t holding out much hope because my dog is much older than a puppy, but I am pleasantly happy with the progress. Up to this point, I have never gotten mad at my dog for his learning speed because I am more at fault for having waited so long. The techniques in this book follow right along with my personality and my beliefs in how to treat a pet. Thank you for the book and I’m glad I didn’t ignore the book just because my dog is almost a year old.

Emily Pruitt has been around dogs for quite a while and has written several books about dogs. “How to Train a Puppy” offers some fundamental but most important training tactics for your puppy. It’s no secret that puppies require diligent training by their owners, and the rewards are great for those who follow through. This book covers several of the basic trainings that one would want to accomplish with their puppies starting with the most necessary one, potty training.
Many people struggle with their puppy training as they raise their voices, and sometimes even their hand to their young dog, but Emily teaches how to do it so easily while making it a fun interaction between puppy and owner.
