Pit Bull Puppy: Obedience Training

OBEDIENCE TRAINING IS IMPORTANT FOR ALL PIT BULLS ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF THE NEGATIVE ATTENTION THEY RECEIVE FROM THE MEDIA. This is Cash, he is barely 4 months old and he is already fairly advanced in simple obedience training that my husband and I did on our own. It is important to keep your pit stable and in control, training is forever and should always, ALWAYS be used. It just takes a lot of time and patience, but trust me, it will all be worth it in the end.

1 www.kuntreekennels.com use light weight, light, light weight, its not competition, its training your pup to have fun pulling, keep it light so they dont get injured, when they are older can put heavy on em

Hi I’m getting one after watching this vid they are nice compact and seem easy to train – usually had black labs but they were huge over 100 lbs and were easy to train. For some reason people would steal my dogs, and now I’m considering a blue pit. Thanks oh yes do you happen to have any tips on training them? Blessings Zoe’

To the ‘know-it-alls’- There are different types of pit bills, most don’t get a lot of muscle at four months old… Common knowledge!!!

to the experts giving bad advice, when you teach a child 2 play a sport like football, you dont keep him away from sports until his 18 then throw him in the mix and say go for it, you start when he is very young with just a ball and catch and throw which later translate into baseball, football, etc… same with pups, need to lay a foundation with appropriate training avoiding training will get your dog hurt, i have never had a dog injured that started as a pup, when grown my dogs pull 2000+easy

  31. pohu2 says:

not true, u should start training your dog to pull as soon as you get them, but the key is light weight, like empty water bottles, then u increase to half full, then full, teaches pup to pull without injury, by the time they are 6-9mos can pull light to moderate lbs, like in the vid, you are right should be about 18mos before going heavy, but each dog is different some need to be 21/2 others are ready at a year, but still best to lay foundation when they r young so they dont get injured

  32. xferniex says:

the earliest u should start training ur dog to pull is at least 16 months, before that they are still growing and they are more likely to hurt them self very bad to where they wont ever pull again. so best to wiat till 16 months

  33. SinfulLen says:

how old are they in this video?

  34. pohu2 says:

bite him back! no, just playin, whenever he bites something u dont want him to, get his toy, bone, etc and give it to him, the key is to ignore what u dont want him to chew on, and make his toy seem really fun and that u will play with him with his toy but not any of the other stuff he shouldnt bite, dont even say no or scold him for the wrong things, even though its negative attention its still attention and if he has alot of energy he will just compete with u, so positive reinforce the toys

  35. pohu2 says:

try online or a bully show or weight pull near you to find a pulling harness with a spreader bar

  36. iloveyou1997salva says:

were do you get harnesses for a year old pit bull

  37. JenniLynn96 says:

For anyone saying this is ‘cruel’ or ‘wrong’, notice how the puppies try to play with the weights and the cones, it’s all play them. They love it, because to them it’s all a game. I just love pitties. 🙂 whether they’re used for pulling, cuddling, or showing; they’ll always be my favorite breed. -3

  39. soren321R says:

16 months, but you can start with small weights at younger age, would be crazy to start from 0 at 16 months

  40. xtassy0505 says:

arent they supposed to have a specific age to start training?

  41. tubbyz28 says:

i use mighityharness. com thats the best place i have found

  42. candidomoreno666 says:

  44. jazminaccount209 says:

  46. Elsleepy626 says:

  47. renzokukenleonhart says:

is it alrite to be startin ur pups on pulling weight at such a young age? could it damage their bones since they have not fully developed? i have one that is almost six months and i plan on having him pull weight once he’s a yr. does any have a recommendation for a good weight harness and also the cost?

  48. MrFuckindie says:
