In this video Chad Hines with Willow Creek Kennels shows you how to build on Steps 1-4 (target & sit training). This video focuses on crate or “kennel” training using positive reinforcement (food reward), along with a secondary reinforcer (a training clicker). This is Step 5 in a series of puppy training basics. Although we put these videos in a sequence, you can certainly train your dog out of sequence. And it is never too late to teach an old dog new tricks! Comment or email willowcreekkennels@hotmail.com with questions. willowcreekkennels.net.

Sometimes a large crate will work for a puppy just fine. Depends on the puppy and routine mostly. If you have problems with accidents in the large crate…you can always switch to a smaller crate. Some crates come with dividers as well. Good luck!
are there any negatives to buying a bigger kennel for a puppy to grow into?
It depends on the dog. You want them to be able to stand up and turn around without hitting their head. This specific crate for this specific dog will not be large enough as he grows.
Just wondering is that crate big enough for the dogs as they mature and grow? Or will you have to get a larger crate
