It could try, try it out with your dog who knows your dog coud catch on quickly. But 6 weeks is young to have even taken him away from it’s mother yet so you could have more difficulty trying to teach it a trick, if the dog doesn’t get the idea just sho him/her some puppy love until it’s about 7-8 weeks 🙂

  12. MysteryAnimalGirl says:

When your dog walks away he/she is letting you know that she has had enough or that you aren’t being as enthusiastic as you can be. A tip I wiould give you is before you start your training get really excited and playfull so the dog focuses on you more. If the dog sits it’s ok because that is a better position to start this trick! Just make sure the treat you give her is worth her while maybe turkey or chicken.

    eHow Pets,

Is There A Video on how to teach a new puppy it’s name? My Puppy Will Only Come If I’m Looking at her and patting my leg. If I don’t do that, she just ignores me. I know she can be a good dog if she learns the basics. Please Help!
    Thanks!

    I have a weird problem.
My 10 week old Border Collie pup can lay down, but not she won’t do it if I don’t touch the ground with my hand.
If I say ‘lay down’ and make the hand signal, she’ll just look at me like’ what the hell are you doing?’
If I touch the ground with my finger, she flops down with no problems, even if I don’t have treats or a toy.
She can sit, shake, roll over and spin when I stand up, but she just won’t lay down.
    Isn’t this odd?

    She’s a weird puppy. ♥
